Horripilant
Horripilant is a chilling incremental dungeon crawl through the horrors of a forgotten underworld. Combining idler, puzzle and autobattler elements, you'll fight, mine, and think your way through the depths of a forsaken dungeon. Gather resources, battle unholy creatures, and unravel the mysteries of the abyss. With each step you'll grow stronger, but beware; every boon has its cost.
Story
You awaken. An old, battered knight, lost in the darkest corners of an abandoned dungeon, with no memory of how you got there. The stench of decay permeates the thick air. The walls seem to whisper your name.
As you stir, a strange tree sprout catches your eye. You hit it, for the voice demands it of you; a twig breaks off onto the ground. With your newfound resource, you seem to be able to ameliorate your equipment. Distorted moans echo from an empty staircase. The voice calls to you again, beckoning you. You must go down. It is your purpose...
Encounter bizarre characters, solve cryptic puzzles, and survive the horrors that lurk in every shadow. Will you escape this living nightmare, or will it consume you?
Repeat, adapt, and survive. The depths need you, and you need it.

anyway to export my save file?
If evasion is actually simply your chance of avoiding any given attack, and defence is a fraction the damage is reduced by, both seem virtually worthless in the early game.
I suspect that maybe you realized they become extremely powerful at high values, so you wanted them to grow slowly. But now their usefulness curve makes them practically irrelevant early and then late game (if not limited) they suddenly shoot up to damage immunity.
There are functions out there that exist to help make their usefulness more linear with their numerical value. Basically what you care about is their impact on effective hitpoints (EHP).
Heya, I think I managed to hit the autoclicker anticheat on the web version while literally trying to buy upgrades for some reason???? 😭
I was just spam clicking with mousekey and moved my mouse to collect the sparkle and get upgrades that was so uncalled for lmfao
Love the game, the HTML 5 demo has a bug where if you click automatically exit the level on the last level of the dungeon for the demo, the you cannot click of the buttons and are forced to reload the website.
What a fun game! Its repetitive yes but it doesn't feel like a chore because of the upgrades you get from rebirthing, and each one makes a fresh start faster and easier. I love that its easy and intuitive and a little challenging too and overall i cant wait to play the full version. Good job!
Some gameplay, a smattering of critique ;)
Given the version differences, I'm guessing the answer is no (and I'm good with that - the gameplay loop itself is fun enough that starting over isn't a chore). But, I'll go ahead and ask anyway: is there any way to import our save from the demo to the retail Steam version?EDIT: no need to answer - decided to just go ahead and start fresh. Looking forward to the updated build. This game is spooky in that 80s ASCII/AD&D dungeon crawler way, and I love it. <3
If you play the web demo, there’s no way to transfer the save. But you can play with your save if you download the executable version of the game on itch. The full game looks at the same place for its saves. Hope this helps!
is the game already out of demo phase? the demo was brutal
also, if the game is released, is there a large level tree?
the art reminds me of loophero, another nice game, are you correlated to it too?
Game is out and available to purchase on Steam! The web demo is very out of date, though you can download the updated build to play a more up to date version of the game.
will this ever have a mac release?
Mac release is not currently planned, but maybe eventually post release!
Love the atmosphere and the mechanics, pretty much what I'd been yearning for in an idle game. I'll make sure to wishlist on Steam.
Fear & Hunger would like a word with you
had potential, which was completely ruined by storage gating. limits to how much of any individual currency can be stored = trash game. always. also fuck the meme bullshit.
Why so extreme with your words? (I’m not talking about the last sentence, but everything else.)
holy shit, chill..
Had a great time with the demo, and immediately wishlisted on Steam! Looking forward to exploring the rest of the dungeon :)
GOD LOOKS AT YOU IN SHAME FOR YOUR SINS OF GREED
What does the green apple button do?
If you have an apple in your slots, this means you’ve purchased it. You can see what it does in the shop: Boosts your healing by 100% for 30 seconds.
Hope this helps!
